KAPS partners with organisations to provide Counselling as part of their Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) that can actually make a difference, and go further...
Common issues such as underperformance, absenteeism, low productivity and burn-out have their roots in the mental health condition of employees. Personal and work-related problems such as change, conflict, harassment, stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse and bereavement are widespread in today’s stressful world. Though an employee may have a good attendance record, being physically present in the workplace while being under mental pressure, leaves the employee distracted and unable to focus on the job.
Attending to this broad range of psycho-social issues which hinder employee performance have now become critical for corporate, and investment in behavioural health care has proved to have sizeable returns.
Research has consistently indicated that employee counselling leads to improvements in:
error reduction
resilience
ability to cope with stress
perceived quality of life
mental and physical health
inter-personal relationships
flexibility
potential
and hence, overall work performanceEAPs are designed to assist in the identification and resolution of productivity problems associated with employee mental health, through the intervention of KAPS’ highly qualified team of psychiatrists, therapists and counsellors.
KAPS adheres to the highest ethical and professional standards, ensuring utmost confidentiality, which allows employees to resolve their issues without fear of disclosure. This is done through an innovative web-based approach that leaves no room for the individual’s identity to be disclosed to anyone but the counsellor at the sole discretion of the employee. The employee may choose various options to get assistance such as chat, e-mail, telephone or face-to-face. The employee can log in, generate a ticket and choose their mode of communication, as well as a counsellor of their choice. This ticket enables the counsellor to get in touch directly with the employee.
KAPS does not limit its assistance to the individual, but believes in a holistic approach, and hence takes the entire family unit into account when providing assistance.
Besides counselling, KAPS also provides screening, awareness and mental health education to promote employee well-being.
